The announcement of the pick was made by Stephen Appiah, a former Black Stars skipper, at an Eagles' NFL Draft Day Viewing event held at the Bridgeview Hotel in Akosombo.

Despite the rain, Appiah revealed that the Eagles had chosen Ojomo, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States when he was seven years old.

The announcement was beamed from Ghana to NFL draft viewers across the world.

Ojomo played football at Katy High School in the Houston area before becoming a contributor for the Longhorns after redshirting in 2018.

He received invitations to both the Combine and the Shrine Bowl and was impressed at the Shrine Bowl week in Vegas.

The Eagles' selection of Ojomo, a powerful Nigerian, marked their final pick in the draft.

Following the announcement, dancehall star Stonebwoy performed some songs from his new project titled 5th Dimension for the fans.
