The President of the Ghana Triathlon Association (GTA), Mr Fuseini Bawa, says the two triathletes who will represent Ghana at the upcoming Commonwealth Games are well-prepared to win a medal for the nation.

According to him, Ghana stood a great chance of winning a medal in triathlon for the first time in its history.

“We are preparing very well and our chances are going to be very great at the Games,” he assured Ghanaians in an interview with the Graphic Sports in Accra last Thursday.

Ghana is being represented by Los Angeles-based Mark Ofosu Twum and Mercy Jane Pappoe whose trainer is Abdul Rauf Yahaya.

Mr Bawa said he was convinced that the duo would outshine the other athletes and bring a medal home.

He pinned his hopes on their intensive training regimen and exposure.

“These two triathletes will shine for Ghana and make the sport known in the country,” he stated.

He appealed for support for the athletes to help make their dream of winning a medal a reality.
