Time for Hearts Kotoko clash change

The Ghana Football Association has rescheduled the time of this weekend Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

The game which was originally scheduled to be played at 6:30 pm has been shifted to 3:00pm on the same day.

Even though details of the reasons for the cancellation of the original time is unknown the Ghana Football Association cited advise from the Ghana Police Service as the main reason for the change of time.

It will be recalled that it was a game between the two teams on May 9, 2001 which resulted in the death of 123 fans after the police threw tear gas into the supporters who were on rampage.

Perhaps to avoid the occurrence of similar thing, and considering the huge interest in this game, the police want the game played earlier in order to avert any hooliganism.
