Ghana continue to struggle in table tennis, beach volleyball and weightlifting after failing to make it to the next stage of their competitions.

In table tennis, Ghana defeated South Africa 3-1 in Group 2 of the men's competition.

Made up of Derek Abrefa, Emmanuel Commey, and Emmanuel Asante, the trio managed a convincing win but failed to qualify to the next stage having lost their opening two games to Cyprus and Nigeria.

Elsewhere, Winnifred Ntumy finished ninth in the women's 45kg and failed to win a medal for Team Ghana while Canada beat Ghana 2-0 in Beach Volleyball.

England destroyed Ghana 12-0 in the women's hockey at the Birmingham City University.

The defeats continue Ghana's poor outing at the games with boxing looking likely to fetch the team a medal for the country.
