The 29-year-old Ghanaian, who currently holds the WBA Africa super-featherweight title and last defended it against Tanzania’s Allan Kamote, did not go beyond the first round.

Baby Jet Promotions, managers of Game Boy, hinted that the bout might be the Ghanaian boxer’s last defence as they prepared to introduce him to the world stage for a world title fight in July.

“We are working for a world title bout for Game Boy and hopefully, after this fight, he will get a shot at the world title”, Samuel Anim-Addo, CEO of Baby Jet Promotion, told the Graphic Sports in an interview yesterday.

“Baby Jet Promotions wants the country’s world title drought to end this year and we believe Tagoe would be the man to do that by winning a world title once a deal is clinched “, he added.

Currently, Tagoe’s record stands at 24 wins and one loss and when the deal is finally clinched, he is expected to take the lightweight division by storm with his quick jabs and strong punches.
