The ambitious 26-year-old believes  he is one of the most talented African midfielders in Europe and would not disappoint if given the opportunity to impress the Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, in a friendly match.

The left-footed player in a telephone interview with the Graphic Sports last Monday said he was looking forward to  following in the footsteps of players such as Junior Agogo and Kwesi Appiah who rose from near  obscurity in lower-tier leagues to hit the limelight with the Stars.

"I will describe myself as a box-to-box player but I am very combative and capable of threading accurate passes to strikers in the final third," the former Vasta Frolunda team B captain stated confidently.

“I also have power and I am a team player who adapts easily to my teammates.

“Football is about opportunity as much as it is about talent. I know I have the talent and I am ready to follow in the well trodden path of players who rose from lower sides to become key to the Black Stars,” he added.

Amechitovi, who won two Man of the Match awards last season, said he would continue to give of his best on the football pitch in order to become one of the best players in the world.

"There are a lot of talented players like myself out there in Europe and we are all doing well but we need a platform to make the next step in our careers," he stated.
