Sellas Tetteh: Borbor snubs Black Queens job for Tamale City

Sellas 'Borbor' Tetteh has opted to coach Tamale City Football Club (TCFC), rather than a Black Queens offer which was on the table.

Tetteh was last Monday unveiled as the new coach of the Division One League side after signing an initial one year deal.

As part of his engagement, the former Liberty Professionals and Black Satellites technical head is expected to qualify the club for the Premier League on his first attempt, a requirement the coach describes as challenging but surmountable.

He denied turning his back on the female national team, the Queens, insisting that talks over the deal were inconclusive.

"Yes, I was contacted and I gave them my terms but the Ghana Football Association (GFA) never got back to me, so no one can say that I have snubbed the offer," the 2009 Under-20 male World Cup-winning coach insisted.

While either party would not divulge the details of the Tamale City contract, Borbor said he was happy with the new job as it provided fresh challenges for him.

"I think for now I'd plead for time to settle in the new role and get started, then we can talk about it (figures) later," he insisted.

Last Monday, Tetteh went to Tamale to sign the contract after agreeing terms with TCFC, which has Jones Alhassan-Abu as the Chief Executive Officer and former GFA Chairman, Lepowura Alhaji M.N.D Jawula, as the president.
