The lanky player, who played all the 29 league matches in his zone, scoring four goals in the process and recognised as the most valuable player in eight of the matches, beat Mohammed Yakubu of Esperance FC and Enoch Atta Agyei of Windy Professionals to win the award.

Moments after he received the award, which went with an undisclosed cash prize, Ibrahim expressed his gratitude to the management and technical team of his club for their support in achieving such a noble feat.

He also thanked GN Bank for their sense of initiative and assured that the award would galvanise into becoming more disciplined, dedicated and committed to the game and be much more competitive during matches.

The Most Promising Player of the Season award, however, went to Enoch Atta Agyei, who beat Joel Fameye of Asokwa Deportivo and Saliu Babawo of Hotsteel FC.

For conceding only 14 goals in the 29 league matches that he featured in, Razak Iddrisu of Techiman City FC, was voted Goalkeeper of the Season ahead of Joseph Essam of Elmina Sharks FC and Ishmael Yahaya of Dreams FC.

The Top Goal Scorer award went to Bright Lukman of Ebusua Dwarfs SC, who scored 30 goals, with the Best Defender going to Ebenezer Coleman of Elmina Sharks FC, who beat Smith Abedu of Guan United FC and Jacob Laweh of Tema Youth FC to win the award.

Other award winners were Referee of the Season, Charles Buluu of Tema, Match Commissioner of the Season, Samuel Asa Aboagye of Suhum, and Assistant Referee of the Season, Sumani Abdul Kadri of Buipe.

A Kumasi-based sports administrator, Samuel Otoo, was recognised with a Special Award for his immense contributions to the development of DOL over the years.

Messrs Douglas Djarbeng and Kwame Ntow Fianko were also recognised for their immense contribution and passion in helping to sustain the development of football in the lower division, while for similar contributions,  the late Prof. Mawusi Dake and Nana Ntiri Denkyi, were posthumously honoured.
