Samuel Boadu gets Cornerstone job

Black Satellites coach, Samuel Boadu, has been appointed as the new coach of Kumasi-based club, Cornerstone.

The ex-Hearts of Oak gaffer would be working as a stop-gap coach for the club until a substantive one is appointed.

Cornerstone confirmed the engagement of the 37-year-old via twitter stating that they were delighted to be working with him and hope his experience would impact positively on the fortunes of the club.

“We are delighted to announce Mr Samuel Boadu as the stop gap coach.

“We are certain that Boadu’s experience and standard of excellence as a tactician will impact Cornerstone Football Club positively as we work assiduously to revive our old glory”, the tweet said.

The division two side has a rich history in Ghana football having previously won the FA Cup twice as well as a winner of the West Africa Football Union championship.

The tweet also described Cornerstone as “the oldest existing football club in the Ashanti kingdom which was established in 1931. Two times FA Cup champions (1959, 1965). 1979 Ghana Telecom Gala Champions and 1987 WAFU Championship winners”.
