RTU confirm Abagna’s move to Al Hilal

Real Tamale United have agreed on a deal for their playmaker, David Abagna Sandan, to join the Sudanese side, Al Hilal.

The attacking midfielder became one of the most sought-after players in the local league following his sterling performance for the Tamale-based club with Accra Hearts of Oak’s embarking on a futile effort at acquiring his signature.

The Tamale-based club confirmed last Monday that it had reached an agreement with the Sudanese topflight club to price the Ghanaian to Omdurman after making eight appearances and scoring three goals this season.

In a tweet to announce the agreement, RTU expressed their gratitude to their skipper for his service to the club and wished him well in his new endeavor.

“Real Tamale United, has reached an agreement with Al Hilal of Sudan for the transfer of David Abagna Sandan.

“The club wishes David Abagna, well in his next endeavor and sends lots of gratitude to the skipper for his contribution and leadership role in the club”, the tweet stated.

The 24-year-old who has had stints with Legon Cities and Ashantigold was a key member of the Black Galaxies side that participated in the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) in Algeria.

It is speculated that Abagna was transferred for $200,000 and would be joining former Asante Kotoko defender, Ibrahim Imoro, who joined the club last year with a reported transfer fee of about $150,000.

He would also be joining a growing list of players who have played for the Omdurman-based club including Abednego Tetteh and Augustine Okrah who all played for Al Hilal.
