Richard Commey's move up in weight best decision - Joshua Clottey
Ghana's former world champion, Joshua Clottey, has described Richard Commey's move to the super lightweight division as the best decision of his career.
Clottey, a former IBF welterweight titlist, told Graphic Sports the ex-IBF lightweight champion did not struggle in his debut 140 pounds fight against Jose Pedraza last August.

"It was the best decision for Commey to move up in weight and it showed in his last fight against Pedraza.
"You could see he did not struggle during the fight and he did very well. He moved up in weight with a lot of power and it will really help him against Ramirez," Clottey noted.
Commey will make his second appearance at super lightweight in Fresno, California, on March 25 when he faces home favourite Jose Ramirez at the Save Mart Arena.
The fight is expected to be a World Boxing Council (WBC) super lightweight championship eliminator whose winner will take on champion Regis Prograis later in the year.
Commey (30-4-1, 27 KOs) became a world champion at lightweight by capturing the IBF title in February 2019 after a second-round TKO win over Isa Chaniev. However, his title reign lasted 10 months after suffering a stunning second-round stoppage defeat to Teofimo Lopez at the Madison Square Garden in the US.
Meanwhile, Ramirez (27-1, 17 KOs), from Avenal, California, will return to a friendly zone in the Save Mart Centre which has hosted six of his previous fights.
Following his 2021 defeat to Josh Taylor for the undisputed junior welterweight title, Ramirez bounced back in March last year with a unanimous decision victory over former two-weight world champion, Jose Pedraza.
