Ray Quarcoo unhappy with GABF president

A Former Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF) president, Ambassador Ray Quarcoo, has petitioned the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Mustapha Ahmed, to call his successor, Gideon Quartey, and his vice, George Lartey, to order for consistently engaging in a campaign to destroy his hard won reputation.

“It has come to my notice that Mr. Gideon Quartey and his Vice are engaged in a smear campaign to bring my name to public ridicule.

“They have on many occasions used the media to publish false statements about my administration and my good self; with the intent of damaging my hard-earned reputation.”

These persons have been falsely asserting on various media channels that my administration is sabotaging their efforts. That the former administration which I led, is still  maintaining relations and communication with the International Boxing Federation (AIBA) and the African Boxing ConFederation making claims that I have been intercepting correspondences from these governing bodies”, it stated in a letter to the ministry.

He contended that their conduct illustrated not only an attitude of conscious indifference for his rights, safety and welfare of others.
