Kotoko started the season on a poor note, losing 0-2 to WAFA at Sogakope three weeks ago.

The result generated anxiety within the supporters’ front, with some calling for the head of the club's General Manager, Opoku Nti.

But the former board member of Kotoko contends that it is too early to call for Nti’s head.

Speaking at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) shortly before his departure to Burkina Faso, Agyapong bemoaned the failure of the supporters to back the club financially, yet expect so much from it.

To him, if each supporter contributed GH¢5 every month, it will help the club a great deal in many respects.

"When I was a board member, you hardly saw the big men paying for matches. They always requested for VIP tickets for free. We shouldn't encourage that practice; VIP tickets should be sold.”

"Football has developed and rich supporters pay to watch matches to help in the club’s income generation.

"'We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that Opoku Nti is not on his own; he operates on the instructions of the board,” he stated.

“He has managed to buy some of the finest players in the country so let's be patient with him”, he urged.

"Giving the club to a businessman or someone who is rich will not solve the club's problem.

"If the fans fail to support the businessman by paying their monthly dues, the businessman will go bankrupt and say the club owes him like it happened to some past administrators of the club,” he explained.

He urged all Kotoko fans to go to the stadium in their numbers tomorrow for the Medeama game.
