The international friendly has been put together by Primeval Media, in collaboration with the Government of Ghana and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, and will offer a  select-side, known as the Dream Team.

This will comprise of top players in Ghana’s Premier League and Division One League, a platform to pit their strength with the reigning CAF Champions League winners, who will parade five Ghanaian players — Solomon Asante, Richard Kissi Boateng, Gladson Awako, Yaw Frimpong and Daniel Nii Adjei.

The match also serves as a dress rehearsal for the African champions ahead of their participation in the 2015 FIFA World Cup which begins on December 10 in Japan.

The Dream Team’s preparations have been hit by the withdrawal of several high-profile players such as Lawrence Lartey and Abeiku Ainooson, who have departed the local scene for foreign clubs. However, coaches Charles Kwabla Akonnor and Augustine Ahinful have a list of guest players, including former Black Stars trio of Stephen Appiah, Godwin Attram and Laryea Kingston.

Apart from the Ghanaian quintuplet, TP Mazembe coach, Patrice Carteron, is expected to field his colourful goalkeeper, Muteba Kidiaba, Jean Kasusula and 2015 CAF Champions league top scorer, Mbwana Samatta, as the Lumumbashi-based side eye their second trophy in a month.

His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has been billed as the Guest of Honour at Sunday’s match.

The football match kicks off at 4.00pm with spectators expected to pay between GH¢5 and GH¢20 as gate fees.
