Players warm up for Coca-Cola Open Africa Minigolf Champs

Many of the registered golfers for the upcoming Cola-Cola Africa Open Minigolf Championship, which tees of on July 27 at the Sports City Arena at Ridge in Accra, have intensified their preparation to familiarise themselves with the course ahead of the competition.

According to the Ghana Mnigolf Federation (GMF), organisers of the competition, there is a strategic need for the 150 registered player to train intensively on the carefully designed minigolf course with natural obstacles that would prove quite a challenge for even the best golfers on the continent.

The competition’s organisers maintained that everything have been put in place for a successful continental minigolf showpiece that will also feature for the first time in Africa the WiFi online golf scoring system being used and streamed live on competition’s website.

The championship is expected to rekindle intensive rivalries between players from Anglophone and Francophone countries who have vowed to lift trophies at stake and win the four slots up for grabs to participate in the international in the World Team Series in Las Vegas, USA, with $50,000 winning purse on offer.

The competition is sponsored by Coca-Cola in partnership with MTN and Major Series of Putting (MSOP), USA.

Meanwhile, rehearsals are ongoing for Coca-Cola entertainment night July 28, which promises to be an action-packed evening with of cultural display, magical display by Voncujovi World of Magic, fashion by Elikem, comedy by Okokobioko the MC and music the legendary Ackah Blay Band.
