Palmer reports Dr Amoah, three others to FIFA

Disqualified GFA presidential aspirant, Mr Wilfred Kweku Osei (Palmer), is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to get his disqualification overturned to enable him to contest for the highest position in Ghana football.

Three days after petitioning the Court of Arbitration for Sports in Switzerland as he fights for justice, Mr Osei has filed a complaint to FIFA’s Ethics Committee against two members of the GFA Normalisation Committee and two members of the vetting committee for what he considers to be ethical violations by Dr Kofi Amoah, President of the GFA Normalisation Committee/ Elections Committee, and another member, Naa Odofoley Nortey, as well as Messrs Frank Davies and Emmanuel Darkwa, both of the GFA vetting committee, which screened the seven presidential aspirants.

Palmer, as Mr Osei is referred to in football circles, last Monday, as part of his petition, tendered in a secret audio recording which he claimed to be that of Dr Amoah allegedly making prejudicial comments about the aspirant, comments he claimed undermined the integrity of the GFA Normalisation Committee boss and represents a breach of his position and a conspiracy to disqualify him from contesting for the GFA presidency at the October 25 polls.

The petition also cites Naa Odofoley for conflict of interest and abuse of office in respect of a case in which the FA member’s law firm was representing the football controlling body in a case against a disqualified contestant for the Executive Council position, Mr Roy Arthur.

In the case of Messrs Davies and Darkwa, Palmer is accusing them also of conflict of interest because they both work for the same law firm which was contracted by Dr Amoah on behalf of the GFA to demand payment of 10 per cent of the transfer fee of a former Tema Youth player, Joseph Paintsil.

Ironically, the two lawyers sat on the election committee and participated in the decision that disqualified the Tema Youth FC owner as a candidate from the presidential elections.
