Olympics crown qualification with Instabul win

Accra Great Olympic were yesterday officially crowned as champions of the 2015/2016 GN Bank Division One League (Zone Three) after they defeated ninth-placed Instanbul FC 1-0 at the Fire Service Training Grounds in Accra.

Striker Yamba Agouda put Oly ahead in the 23rd minute when he shot home from outside the box to set the hundreds of fans who thronged the venue in jubilant mood.

Istanbul fought hard to level up, but Olympics remained resolute, determined to wrap up their coronation with real celebration.

Immediately the final whistle went, players of Olympics carried their coach, Godwin Attram who also doubles as a teammate, shoulder high and poured powder  on themselves to signify their victory, as they sang and danced with the fans clad in all-white.

The match was watched by many dignitaries, including board chairman, Mr Amarkai Amarteifio, Mr Fadi Fattal of Metro TV and Dr McKorley of McDan Shipping company.
