The former Ghana international and coach has been battling with illness in recent months.

Mr Nyantakyi was accompanied by the Western Region FA Chairman, Kojo Yankah, Mr Kweku Eyiah and the CEO of Sekondi Hasaacas, Nanabanyin Eyison.

Eshun played for the national team from 1965 to 1974.

The former Sekondi Eleven Wise player also captained the African select side that played in 1972 mini-World Cup in Brazil and the Afro Latin-American Games in Mexico.

He enjoyed an impressive coaching career after he managed the Stars, Black Satellites as well as clubs such as Sekondi Hasaacas, Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics and Dragons FC of Benin.

Earlier, the FA boss led a delegation to attend the one-week celebration of the death of the former Western regional FA chairman, Lee Yankey.

He was accompanied by Mr Yankah, newly elected Executive Committee members Mr Eyiah and Nanabanyin Eyison, as well as GFA Deputy General Secretary, Isaac Addo.

Mr Yankey passed away last week after a brief illness and the FA delegation will join the bereaved family and mourners at his funeral ceremony, which will be held at the home of the former football administrator.
