NSA gives ultimatum to associations

The National Sports Authority(NSA) has directed all the 36 sporting associations in the country to hold national elections before the end of June to elect new executives  for the respective associations.

This has been necessitated by the expiry of the four-year mandate of the executives of the various sporting associations.

An NSA letter sighted by the  Graphic Sports indicated that with the exception of the weightlifting association which held its national elections last year, the rest of the sporting associations could not hold elections.

Consequently, the NSA has called for a meeting of the presidents and general secretaries of all the 36 sporting associations to discuss among other things the modalities for fresh elections.

The meeting, which will also discuss the upcoming Commonwealth Games and finances of the various clubs, is scheduled for tomorrow at the Media Centre of the NSA at the Accra Sports Stadium.
