Nkawie Court grants 5 Hearts of Oak supporters bail

The five Hearts of Oak supporters arrested last week at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for vandalizing properties have been granted bail by the Nkawie Circuit Court.

The case has been adjourned to September 25, 2018

The Court presided over Mr John Michael Abbey granted the accused bail in the sum of GHC50,000 each with three sureties.

The accused are also to report to the police three times a week until the case is disposed of.

The sureties must also be resident within the Ashanti region and must provide their Voter's ID card.

The accused are Abugri Sadat, 27, driver; Kwaku Nkrumah, 34, trader; Nicholas Yeboah, 24, footballer and Moro Jackson, 42, mason.

The rest are Akwasi Banoh, 32, trader; Nana Adom, 35, teacher and Kwabena Kwaako, 42, mason.

Last Sunday during the second leg of the Super 2 friendly match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, supporters of the latter ripped the chairs and threw them into the perimeter in protest over what they termed unfair officiating by referee Ben Sefa.

The seven supporters were arrested by the combined team of military and the police who were detailed to provide security at the stadium.
