Mohammed Aryeetey fights Andy Dominguez Velasquez in US August 10
Former national flyweight champion, Mohammed Aryeetey, will make his second United States (US) bow when he takes on Mexico’s Andy Dominguez Velasquez in a flyweight contest at the Sony Hall in New York on August 10.
Aryeetey's first bout in the US was a successful one, as he managed to avoid defeat against Jeronil Borres.
A year after his debut fight in the country, he is ready to return to the ring and showcase his skills once again.
Aryeetey, a US-based Ghanaian fighter, has been out of the ring for a year since making his debut in the country last August against Borres.
The upcoming bout against Velasquez will be an important test for him as victory could open up more opportunities in the highly-competitive division.
Since turning pro three years ago, the Ghanaian has been impressive, winning seven out of eight bouts in the process.
Aryeetey won all his opening seven bouts in Ghana before earning a split draw with Borres last August.
Velasquez also has an impressive record of nine wins from as many bouts, with six knockouts.
The Mexican will be coming into the fight with Aryeetey on the back of a unanimous decision victory over Marvin Solano in December last year.
