Mohammed Aryeetey eyes December ring return

Undefeated flyweight boxer, Mohammed Aryeetey, has set his sights on returning to the ring in December to end the year.

Aryeetey (7-0-1, 5 KOs) has been out of the ring since earning a split draw with America’s Jeronil Borres in August in the US.

The Ghanaian youngster marked his US debut with an impressive performance against a much more experienced opponent in Borres.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, the 19-year-old said he would finish the year with a tune-up fight to keep in shape for next year.

“I have to finish the year on a bright note and be active for the New Year so I am confident of returning in December.

“It has been a great year for me and I believe I am on course to achieve my dreams of becoming a world champion,” said Aryeetey.

Aryeetey has fought twice this year. He first knocked out Albert Commey in March before earning a split draw against Borres in the US.

When asked about his US debut, the hard-hitting fighter said it was a memorable one and he expressed the hope to get the opportunity to fight for the world championship there.

“It was a great feeling fighting in the US but I couldn’t win and hope I could get the chance there to win a world title in the coming years.”
