Farah was left tasting Ethiopian Muktar Edris’ dust as he ran out of steam on the final straight in the 5,000m final at the London Stadium.

But to make the bad feeling even worse for Farah, he looked up to see his rival putting his hands over his head to do his own Mobot as he crossed the line.

Farah appeared to grimace as he glanced at Edris rip off his trademark.

The Mobot has been a popular victory salute for Farah since Clare Balding came up with the signal during an episode of A League of their Own.

Balding said, as a papal attempted to come up with a celebration: “I think you should do the 'M' from YMCA, the M for Mo,” she said, performing the move to illustrate her point.”

The long distance legend had been attempting to win his fourth World Championship gold at the distance before he retired from the track.
