According to Mr Asiamah, he is confident that the 2018 AWCON LOC chaired by Madam Freda Prempeh will "go beyond excellence and exceed the expectations of all stakeholders" because of the calibre of knowledgeable and experienced personalities on the committee.

He explained that all members of the LOC were selected in consultation with the Ghana Football Association to ensure that it would have the finest brains in football management and persons who have the capacity to organise the 2018 AWCON slated to run between November 17 and December 1.

"Barely a week ago, Ghana hosted and won a highly successful, memorable and incident-free WAFU tournament. This remarkable achievement places a heavy responsibility on us to go beyond excellence and exceed the expectations of all stakeholders in the organisation of the impending women's championship in 2018," Asiamah at the swearing-in ceremony.

He also advised the committee to consider the formation of several sub-committees including opening and closing, accommodation and transport, technical and venue, protocol and ticketing, security and accreditation and finance and sponsorship, whose work would be crucial to the success of the competition.

The chairperson of the LOC for the 2018 AWCON, Madam Freda Prempeh, said her outfit had already begun their duties behind the scenes by establishing some sub-committees to deal with internal transport and travel arrangements for all the eight teams that will participate in the championship.

The membership of the LOC for the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) also includes Mr Fred Crentsil (Vice-Chairperson), Felix Agyekum, Madam Linear Addy, Kwadwo Baah, Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Madam Mawuse Walker, Mr Nadel Majdoub, Madam Frances Abena Koranteng Agadzi and Mr Kofi Nsiah.
