The 11.3 km walk attracted about 300 participants, including the deputy Rector of GIMPA, Philip Osei Duku, and artistes such as Kwaw Kesse and Nii Funny who crowned the event with musical performances.

From the main entrance of GIMPA, participants walked along the principal streets of Legon to the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout, Fiesta Royal Hotel Junction and back to GIMPA.

After the exercise, the minister promised to construct a modern basketball court for GIMPA, his alma mater. And in furtherance of his promise, he ordered the delivery of 100 bags of cement to get the project underway.

He said as a centre of excellence, GIMPA deserved sporting facilities that befitted its status.

The event was put together by Sammy Anim Addo, a student of GIMPA and CEO of Gold Star Consult.

There was also free health screening for the  participants.
