Man Utd defender Bailly signs with Jay Z's Roc Nation

Ivory Coast and Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has signed with JAY-Z’s management company, Roc Nation Sports.

The terms of the agreement between Bailly and Roc Nation were not disclosed by the company.

Bailly becomes the second high profile professional footballer to sign for Roc Nation Sports after his teammate Romelu Lukaku became the first ever premier league player to sign to the talent agency in April 2018.

Bailly joined Manchester United from Villarreal ahead of the 2016-2017 season and quickly made a name for himself at Old Trafford, appearing in 38 games across all competition.

Bailly made his competitive debut on August 7, 2016 in a 2–1 win against Leicester City at Wembley Stadium to win the FA Community Shield and was named ‘Man of the Match’.

He was later voted Manchester United’s Player of the Month for August 2016.

His journey to stardom started when he was signed by the Catalan club in December 2011 and joined their youth system at age 17.

He later became a regular for the Espanyol B team and went on to become a regular on Espanyol’s first team.

Founded by JAY-Z in 2013, Roc Nation Sports currently represents a number of athletes across numerous major leagues, including the NFL, NBA, and Major League baseball. Other notable names on the roster include Golden State Warriors’ player Kevin Durant and Ndamukong Suh of the Miami Dolphins.
