The match, witnessed by a packed stadium including the 104-year-old National Chief Imam and other dignitaries, ended in a thrilling victory for Mamobi on penalties.

It is worth noting that Mamobi was initially disqualified from the tournament for reporting late for their first-round fixture but was later readmitted after filing an appeal.

They made the most of their second chance by putting up an impressive performance throughout the tournament, defeating Salaga, Accra New Town, Akim Oda Zongo, and Madina to reach the finals.

On the other hand, Darkuman made their way to the finals by defeating Hohoe Zongo in the semi-finals after Hohoe had caused a major upset by defeating Fadama in the quarter-finals.

The tournament saw the participation of 30 Zongo communities and is named after the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhi Sharubutu, to bring Zongo communities together to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

The event was supported by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the Ministry of Sports, NASCO Electronics, the Zongo Development Fund, and Perla Natural Mineral Water.

At the end of the tournament, the National Chief Imam, along with the Sports Minister and other distinguished guests, presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.

With this victory, Mamobi now joins Ashaiman and Kasoa as the only communities to have won the tournament twice
