LINE-UP: Richard Ofori captains Black Stars against Madagascar

Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori will lead the team this afternoon against Madagascar in their opening group qualifier for the next FIFA World Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The Orlando Pirates shot stopper is making his first start for the Stars since September 2021 when he started but hobbled off in a 1-0 defeat to South Africa in Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg.

Turkey-based defender Daniel Amartey partners Nicholas Opoku in central defence as Gideon Mensah and Seidu Alidu play as fullbacks.

Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams will operate in a front three while Mohammed Kudus will work behind them together with Baba Idrissu and Abdul Samed Salis.
