Kotoko vow to beat Medeama tomorrow

Kumasi Asante Kotoko is poised to recover from their disappointing 0-2 loss to WAFA at Sogakope two weeks ago when they host Medeama SC tomorrow at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors hope to bounce back from that shocking defeat as they face Medeama who also lost their first two games to Ashgold and Hearts of Oak respectively.

This encounter evokes memories of their MTN FA Cup final clash last season which saw Medeama emerging as the winners of the tournament with a 2-1 win.

With this being their first home match this season, Kotoko cannot afford to disappoint their faithful fans as they seek to put more pressure on Medeama’s head coach, Tom Strand.

However, the Swedish coach is also determined to turn things around after confidently declaring that his side was not afraid of the Porcupine Warriors.

Medeama have never beaten Kotoko in their previous six meetings in the domestic league until their FA Cup triumph.

Arch-rivals Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, are enjoying a superb start to the season with Japanese coach, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who is making his debut in the local Premier League.

The Phobians have won two games in a row and seem to have found their rhythm and will be hoping to maintain their winning streak when they face Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast tomorrow.

Dwarfs are currently bottom of the table, having lost their first two matches to Dreams FC and New Edubiase United respectively.

Dwarfs Coach, J.E. Sarpong, is under pressure to get results and losing to Hearts tomorrow could spell doom for him, hence his resolve to win at all cost this time round.

AshantiGold SC will be hoping to recover from their early CAF Champions League elimination to beat Berekum Chelsea today at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

New entrants, Techiman City, will clash with struggling Dormaa-Ahenkro-based Aduana Stars in a tricky local derby at the Ameyaw Ekumfi Park at Techiman.

In the other fixtures, league leaders Wa All Stars welcome Liberty Professionals to the Wa Park, WAFA play Hasaacas at Sogakope park, while Inter-Allies host C.K. Akunoor’s Dreams FC at Tema.
