The   Porcupine Warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, yesterday  defeated visiting Elmina Sharks 2-0  in the  Xylofon Cash Premier League match  played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The two goals scored in the second half  through headers from speedster, Emmanuel Gyamfi, and Burkinabe international, Songne Yakuba, in the 57th and 86th minutes respectively set the stadium alight as fans went wild in celebration.

Kotoko had a greater share of the exchanges in both halves but Sharks proved very tough by creating  numerous scoring opportunities but failed to utilise them.
Their determination nearly paid off in the 28th minute when Emmanuel Agyeman Badu gifted Elmina Sharks a back pass on the edge  of the penalty box, but he messed up the opportunity .

Kotoko scored the first goal  in the 57th minute against the run of play  when  diminutive Emmanuel Gyamfi  sneaked  through  the defenders of Sharks, and sent the lanky goalkeeper Joshua Opoku, to the wrong side before slotting the ball home to the admiration of the fans.

The Nasco Man of the Match, Yakub,  increased the tally for Kotoko in the 86th minute with a beautiful header which hit the back of the net before the goalkeeper could react

Down by two goals, Sharks launched incessant attacks in the dying minutes of the game from all angles but failed to penetrate the defence of Kotoko for a consolation goal.
