The competition, dubbed “I Love Taekwondo Video Contest” and sponsored by Rana Motors, is expected to attract many taekwondo practitioners and clubs accross the country.

Briefing the Graphic about the event, the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, Lyeo Woon-Ki, said there were 90 taekwondo clubs in Ghana and those clubs were expected to send video clips on their perspective about taekwondo and what the sport meant to them to organisers.

He said the clips which must be 30 seconds to a minute long should be sent via email to [email protected] for verification.

“They can also present the video clips directly to the Korean Embassy in Accra,” said Mr Woon-Ki added. The video competition, which commenced on September 1, is expected to end on October 31.

He said 20 taekwondo clubs would be selected and rewarded in November, with the top three clubs taking additional prizes.

The prizes, he said, included taekwondo protector sets, uniforms and training manuals.

Mr Woon-Ki described the art of taekwondo as the best tool for education and training, pointing out that “it ensures better health, social solidarity and inculcates the spirit of   self-discipline among the youth”.

He, therefore, encouraged more people to take part in the competition.
