Dogboe, who is preparing to take on Robeisy Ramirez for the WBO featherweight title, said he was two weeks away from lifting the title. A victory next month will make the Ghanaian a two-division world titlist.

The Ghanaian hard-hitting fighter has been in training camp under the tutelage of two finest trainers in the US, Barry Hunter and Patrice Harris, who are looking at making him champion again.

In a post on his Twitter page, Dogboe wrote “Praise be to the Lord! 2 weeks until we lift up the @worldboxingorg featherweight world title. The time is now! We are just about wrapping things up over here”.

Dogboe (24-2, 15 KOs) has intensified training at the Headbangers Boxing Gym in Washington, D.C ahead of his WBO featherweight championship against Ramirez in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 1.

Trainers Hunter and Harris have ensured Dogboe’s resurgence from two consecutive defeats to Emanuel Navarrete in 2018 and 2019, respectively, which ended his reign as WBO super bantamweight champion.

Dogboe's motivation

Dogboe could use his 2018 victory over Jessie Magdaleno as a motivation to earn Ghana another world title by defying all the odds to beat Cuba’s Ramirez (11-1, 7 KOs).

His impressive run of four consecutive victories since losing his WBO super bantamweight title has restored Dogboe’s confidence ahead of the showdown with the dangerous Ramirez.

Meanwhile, Ramirez is determined to win his maiden world championship bout by beating his Ghanaian opponent in an expected thrilling encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ramirez is a well-vested boxer with an exceptional amateur record having won two Olympic gold medals for Cuba.

Since turning pro, he has won all fights despite losing his debut to Adan Gonzales in 2019 but got his much-needed revenge against the Cuban a year later.
