Hearts of Oak to lose Winful Cobbina?

Accra Hearts of Oak offensive midfielder, Winful Cobbina, could be the next big star to leave the Phobian family to seek greener pastures outside Ghana after he commenced trials with Danish top flight club, Viborg FF, for a possible transfer deal.

On Tuesday, the club confirmed on their website that the 26-year-old Ghanaian had begun training with them, alongside Danish right-back Andreas Albech, 26.

Both Hearts and the Danish side have provided scanty information about the trials but information available indicated that the player was expected to undergo medicals ahead of a €75,000 deal agreed by both clubs.

If a deal is finalised, Cobbinah, who was instrumental in Ghana’s triumph during the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) last October, would join Kwame Kizito as the other Hearts players to have moved to new clubs this season.

Last week, Kizito also confirmed signing a two-year contract with current Libya league champions, Al Ittihad, after the forward refused to renew his contract with the Phobians when it ran out at the end of last season.

Cobbina failed to divulge any information about his presence in the Danish side when Graphic Sports contacted him yesterday, but sources say the nimble-footed player could pen his signature to a deal if the club is satisfied with his performance.
