Hearts failed to meet my expectation — Daniel Agyei

Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Daniel Agyei, says the only stumbling block between him and a deal with Accra Hearts of Oak is lack of agreement over a proposal by the player.

Agyei, whose current deal with Liberty Professionals ends before the commencement of the new season, has disclosed that  Hearts’ offer, however, fell below his expectation.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, the 26-year-old said: “We had  talks with Hearts and we presented a proposal but there was no agreement”.

“They came back with an offer but was difficult for me to accept it. I expected the parties involved to sit down and discuss an acceptable package,”  he explained.

There have been media reports indicating that the  U-20 World Cup winner  is demanding over $42,000 from the Phobians before he signs for them.

The reports also claim that, the Liberty Professionals goal tender has also demanded over GH¢80,000 per season from  Hearts  to make it a total of GH¢160,000 for  two years if he finally signs for the club.

Agyei has confirmed his willingness to join the Phobians, saying: “I don’t want to talk about the money in the proposal we made to Hearts because it is a matter  between two parties”.

However, Agyei, who just returned home from The Netherlands on vacation, said he was opened to any local big club.

Asked about  an extension of his current contract with Liberty, Agyei stressed that everything depended on the Dansoman-based club since he was ready to offer them his services.
