Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Family Fun Run March 6

This year’s edition of the annual 6km and 10km Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Family Fun Run and Walk in Accra was launched last Tuesday ahead of the event on Independence Day, March 6.

Organisers of the event, Happy FM, in collaboration with Lakeside Marina will mark a decade of the event meant to promote regular exercising among corporate entities and Ghanaians in general.

At the launch, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Alliance, Mr Ernest Boateng, noted that the annual event brought participants and companies together to exercise, network and give back to society.
Mr Boateng explained that the Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Family Fun Run and Walk also provided participants the opportunity to win amazing prizes, as well as

interact with business associates.

“This is an annual event which is targeted at bringing participants and companies together to exercise, network and give back to society. It is also a means to gain inspiration and motivation to continue running and walking even after this activity to improve their overall health,” he said.

Donation

The Director of Lakeside Estate, Mr Salah Kweku Kalmoni, encouraged the public to participate in the event as this year’s edition would feature a simultaneous run and walk from four main cities namely: Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.

He explained that they were expecting over 600 runners to participate in this year’s edition, with a percentage of GH¢7 from the proceeds to be donated to the Mercy Social Centre and the orphanage.

Registration

Participants will pay GH¢45 for early bird registration and GH¢50 for standard registration. Registration for families has been discounted to GH¢100 for early bird registration and GH¢150 for standard registration.

The early bird registration for school teams is GH¢200 and GH¢250 for standard registration.
