The fourth edition of the Greater Accra Taekwondo Championships will be staged today at the All Saints Anglican Church in Adabraka at 8a.m.
Over 200 taekwondo practitioners from the Greater Accra Region are expected to participate in the competition which serves as the criteria for the selection of athletes to represent Greater Accra in the upcoming National Sports Festival.
Spearheaded by the Greater Accra Sports Directorate and its director, Jeffrey Manzan Owusu, as the special guest of honour, the competition is eligible to all taekwondo clubs in the region.
According to Master Norbert Amefu, the weigh-in for the competitors was held yesterday at the All Saints Anglican Church at Adabraka.
“This competition, as always, is geared towards the national cause and is open to all taekwondo practitioners and teams,” he stated.
He said 30 clubs and teams from the Ashanti Region would also take part in the event to prepare them for some major events on the calender.
