Ghana's Golden Shuttlers make top three at World Juniors Team Cheers

Ghana’s Golden Shuttlers have secured a place among the top three countries in the Team Cheers competition at the ongoing 2026 BWF World Junior Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

Ghana ranked third in the Team Cheers standings, alongside Germany and the Philippines, earning a place in the final scheduled for Saturday, October 10.

The Golden Shuttlers have captured attention with their energetic display, built around the message, “We Are Here to Dominate.” The team delivers the chant in both English and a Ghanaian language, bringing a touch of Ghanaian culture to the international stage.

All seven players take part in the performance, which features coordinated movements, a player performing a flip, another holding the Ghana flag, and the rest of the team going down together as part of their routine.

The display combines teamwork, creativity and national pride, giving the young Ghanaian players an opportunity to showcase their personalities beyond the badminton court.

Under the Team Cheers initiative, participating teams use chants, coordinated movements and creative performances to express their team identity and energise the championship atmosphere.

The activity adds a cultural and entertainment element to the competition, allowing players to connect with supporters and other teams.

The Golden Shuttlers will now look to make their performance count in Saturday’s final as they represent Ghana on the world stage.
