Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Year award at the 2026 CAF Awards, competing against nine other nominees for the continental honour.
The 20-year-old earned the nomination after impressive performances for Danish side FC Nordsjælland, which secured him a move to English Premier League club Coventry City.

He also made a mark with the Black Stars, scoring Ghana's winning goal against Panama to help secure a historic knockout stage berth for the first time in 16 years.
Yirenkyi faces stiff competition from Algeria's Ibrahim Maza, Cameroon's Christian Kofane, Ivory Coast's Christ Inao and Yan Diomande, Egypt's Hamza Abdelkarim, Mali's Ishmael Kamissoko, Morocco's Abdellah Ouazane and Ayoub Bouaddi, and Senegal's Ibrahim Mbaye.
