Ghana’s Golden Shuttlers have secured three semi-final places at the ongoing 2026 All Africa U-19 Badminton Championship in Cairo, Egypt, following an impressive showing in the individual events.
The Ghanaian team entered the quarter-final stage with five slots across the men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles and men’s singles events but managed to convert three into semi-final appearances.
The women’s doubles pair of Moslena Adu and Racheal Quarcoo booked their place in the last four, while Ghana also secured two semi-final slots in the mixed doubles event.
The mixed doubles pairs of Adu Mintah and Moslena Adu, as well as Obeng Shang and Racheal Quarcoo, progressed to the semi-final stage to keep Ghana’s medal hopes alive in the individual competition.
The three semi-final qualifications add to Ghana’s medal tally after the Golden Shuttlers secured bronze in the Mixed Team Relay event earlier in the championship.
With three semi-final appearances secured, Ghana will now look to convert the opportunities into additional medals as the competition progresses towards its conclusion.
