The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has selected athletics, swimming, judo, tennis, beach volleyball, boxing and cycling with 14 athletes -- two from each federation -- representing the country in their respective sports.

Making up the contingent include seven coaches, five other officials, as well as the Chef de Mission who leads the delegation.

GOC President, Ben Nunoo Mensah, disclosed to the Daily Graphic last Friday that the organisation was doing its best to raise about $50,000 out of the estimated budget of $130,000 dollars for the games, while it looks foward to the government to support the committee with the remaining fund.

Mr Nunoo Mensah said funding was required to cater for return air tickets and per diem allowance for the contingent since accommodation and feeding would be provided by the games organisers.
