Multiple award-winning Ghanaian musician, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known in showbiz circles as Samini Dagaati, will be the lead act at the 44th MTN Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards Night which comes off at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 11.
The Afro-pop, Dancehall and Reggae artist joins a long list of elite performers, including Amakye Dede, the Ramblers International Band and Kwabena Kwabena, to perform at the awards in line with SWAG tradition.
The SWAG President, Mr Kwabena Yeboah explained that the decision to sign high profile musicians such as Samini to perform at the prestigious awards fell in line with the association’s tradition to provide stakeholders with quality entertainment on such a hallowed platform to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Ghana sports in 2018.
“Last year’s awards nite was awesome with a splendid performance by celebrated highlife star, Kwabena Kwabena, and this year, patrons should expect an electrifying performance by Samini who has carved a niche for himself in the music industry,” the SWAG president said.
Samini, whose hit songs include Linda, Where My Baby Dey, MasterKey and Morning Rose, told www.swagghana.com that as a sports fan himself, he was excited to perform on the stage at the nation’s premier awards.
