In presenting the cheque to the GCA, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas Limited, Dr Benjamin K. D. Asante, noted that the support formed part of their numerous assistance to least financed disciplines in the country ahead of preparations towards the African Games.

Capacity building

Dr Asante explained that their decision to offer the financial support to cricket would help build the capacity of the youth that wish to participate in the next edition of the African Games.

“We are glad to be giving assistance to the various sporting disciplines in the country because it forms part of ways to help develop talents of the youth.

“We believe the financial support would go a long way to refurbish the practice nets at the Achimota Oval in order to give it a facelift,” Dr Asante said.

In receiving the cheque, the President of the GCA, Emmanuel Owusu Asare, was grateful to the company and stated that the financial support was relevant to their quest to refurbish the practice nets at the Achimota Oval.
