GHALCA boss Kudjoe Fianoo bids late wife farewell today

A good number of members of the football fraternity are expected to turn up today, Saturday, September 10, to mourn with the Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo as he bids final farewell to his late wife, Mrs. Vida Odoley Fianoo.

Mrs. Fianoo passed away after a short illness and will be buried today.

Ahead of the burial, there will be pre-burial service at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Grace Congregation at Community 11, Tema from 5:00am to 8:30am.

After the pre-burial service, which will also allow sympathisers to file past the body, the burial service will follow immediately at the same venue.

According to the programme released by the family, the body of the late Mrs. Fianoo will be interred in a private ceremony. However, the final funeral rites will continue at the compound of PCG, Grace Congregation, Community 11, Tema immediately after the burial.

Memorial and thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the PCG, Grace Congregation, Comm.11 Tema, at 9 a.m.

The football fraternity has showed consistent support towards Mr. Fianoo since the passing of wife last July.

Many of them showed up to commiserate with him during the one week observation of her passing and also called on him at his residence in Tema to express their sympathy and sign a book of condolence.

Mrs. Fianoo who is from La in Accra, was married to the GHALCA Chairman for over three decades.

Having spent that much time with the long-serving football administrator, Mrs. Fianoo was oftentimes referred to as the mother of football for her supporting role to her husband’s long association with football.

Indeed, together with her husband, they were on hand to sympathise and console the GHALCA Administrator, Samuel Oduro Nyarko during the final funeral rites of his wife, Mrs. Vida Yaa Oduro Nyarko, in January this year.

Mrs. Fianoo is survived by her husband and their four adult children: Dr Mrs. Priscilla Mawutor Fianoo Dzinyelo, Mrs. Anita Akofa Tackie, Benedicta Mawusi Fianoo and Benjamin Xolali Fianoo.
