GFA to unveil Chris Hughton as new coach

Coach Hughton’s unveiling is an integral part of the build-up to Ghana’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group E doubleheader against Angola.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur manager will be presented to the media to share his vision, ideology and expectations with Ghanaians.

As part of the unveiling, the FA will also make public the association’s targets for the coach, terms of engagement, and other relevant information pertaining to Hughton’s work.

He will be assisted by George Boateng and Mas-ud Didi Dramani.

Background of Hughton

Coach Hughton joined the Stars technical team in March last year as the technical advisor to his predecessor, Otto Addo, ahead of Ghana’s crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying play-offs against Nigeria.

The 64-year-old trainer of Irish and Ghanaian heritage maintained his role in the team during Ghana’s FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar where the Black Stars exited at the group stage until his appointment as substantive coach last month.
