The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has presented five vehicles to the Greater Accra and Northern Regional Football Associations, as well as key operational departments of the Association, under the FIFA Forward Programme.
The initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader efforts to improve mobility, administrative efficiency and football development at both regional and national levels.
The presentation was highlighted by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the Association’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
“Over the past few years, the GFA has successfully implemented a comprehensive Bus Strategy, which has significantly enhanced transportation support across the game,” he said.
The latest intervention, he said complements the GFA’s wider Bus Strategy, which has seen 13 buses distributed to Women’s Premier League and Division One League clubs in recent years.
He also announced plans to distribute five additional buses to deserving clubs under its enhanced Merit Awards Programme, in recognition of their performances during the 2024/25 season.
“As part of our enhanced Merit Awards Programme, the Football Association will today distribute five additional buses to deserving clubs in recognition of excellence and outstanding performances during the 2024/2025 season.” Mr Simeon-Okraku stated.
The transport initiatives are intended to address logistical challenges, improve the operational capacity of clubs and regional associations, and support the professionalisation of Ghanaian football.
