Frank Adu Junior and Pam Mugendi Triumph at SMEC Invitational Golf Tournament

Frank Adu Junior and Pam Mugendi emerged victorious at the second edition of the SMEC Invitational Golf Tournament, held at the Achimota Golf Club (AGC) in Accra last Saturday.

Adu Junior, who serves as the President of the Board of Trustees at AGC and plays off a handicap of 12, clinched the men's title with an impressive 40 Stableford points. Meanwhile, Mugendi, playing off a handicap of 37, secured the women's title with a noteworthy 37 Stableford points.

In the men's category, Roland Osei Nyarko (handicap 16) secured second place, while Elias George Hage (handicap 12) took third place, registering 39 Stableford points.

Mary Prempeh (handicap 9) claimed second position in the women's contest with 36 points, closely followed by Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah (handicap 15) in third place with 34 points.

The winners were honoured with trophies, golf bags, and wheel trollies in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

After clinching the men's title, Adu Junior attributed his victory to the rigorous hours of practice he dedicated to the sport. He also commended SMEC for supporting less recognized sports like golf.

Tutu Agyare and Mary Agyare secured golf gloves, trophies, and golf balls for achieving the Longest Drive, while Jojo Ampadu and Charity Ampadu were awarded golf bags and trophies for their success in the Closest to the Pin prizes.

Addressing the conclusion of the tournament, SMEC Ghana's Regional Manager, Jose Fernandez, emphasized that the primary objective of the event was to foster networking opportunities among SMEC's staff, clients, potential clients, and golf enthusiasts.

He affirmed that the tournament stands as a testament to SMEC's commitment to Ghana, assuring that the SMEC Invitational Golf Tournament will be an annual fixture in the coming years.
