Former Medeama, Kotoko star Kabiru Moro passes away at age 35

Tragic news has struck the Ghanaian football community as former Medeama SC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Kabiru Moro, has sadly passed away at the age of 35.

The untimely incident occurred during a community football match in Akwatia, Eastern Region, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. While on the field, Moro suddenly collapsed, prompting immediate medical attention from those present.

Efforts were made to swiftly transport him to St. Dominic Hospital in Akwatia, but sadly, despite the medical team's best efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Kabiru Moro, throughout his football career, left a lasting impact on the Ghana Premier League.

His contributions to both Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC earned him a reputation as a skilled and talented player. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Medeama's 2014 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, representing Ghana on the continental stage.

On Wednesday, July 19, the late Kabiru Moro was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs, as family, friends, and fellow football enthusiasts bid a heartfelt farewell to the cherished football star.
