Fianoo quits FA positions
Ashgold CEO, Kudjoe Fianoo, yesterday formally withdrew from all Ghana Football Association (GFA) activities and accordingly tendered his resignation from the Black Stars Management Committee with immediate effect.

The veteran football administrator, who led the Obuasi-based club to win the just-ended First Capital Plus Premier League, had until yesterday served as the vice chairman of the Stars management team since 2014 when the committee was reconstituted following a decision by GFA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, to step down as the committee’s chairman.
Besides the Stars position, Mr Fianoo has also resigned from his position as the chairman of the FA’s Media Committee, citing personal reasons for his decision.
A terse letter to the president of the GFA yesterday was sighted by the Graphic Sports, but Mr Fianoo only confirmed his decision but refused to go beyond the personal reasons he cited in his letter.
“At an appropriate time I will go public about the reasons that pushed me to take this decision, but it is something I have thought through very well,” he said.
“But I have always thought about a day like this and events before the Premier League ended must have eventually pushed me to this decision.”
The decision comes after the outspoken administrator had lost in his attempt to be voted back into the Executive Committee of the GFA.
Fianoo and his age-long football ally, Kofi Manu, aka Blue Blue, as well as the current GFA vice president, Fred Crentsil, were among the casualties in last Tuesday’s election that introduced some new faces into the football decision-making fray.
