Fast on the pitch, stylish on the road

When you are a player of Mesut Ozil’s stature and earns close to £140,000 each week and about £560,000 a month, splashing £169,000 just on one car would seem like a drop in the ocean.

Certainly that would do very little harm to the pocket of the ex-Real Madrid star, whose car collection includes a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Mercedes, among many others.

From a distance, the Arsenal star does not appears to be a hard core car freak but seeing the kind of automobiles he drives, one can easily understand the attention paid to details during the manufacturing of the cars.

Most of his Audi cars were also gifts from his former clubs, sponsors, Audi who often present any of the company’s car models of the player’s choice for him turn to pay later.

Ozil’s earnings are not only confined to football but much of his cash also comes from endorsement of products and brands, such as Adidas, where he signed a seven-year deal estimated at $35million after departing from Nike. He is also sponsored by Kinder Eggs.

The Forbes magazine rates him as the 93rd highest paid athlete in the world, and in 2015 the German Foreign Ministry voted him German Football Ambassador for his charity work, including donating his World Cup bonus to Brazilian children in need of life-saving surgery.
