The Ghana Football Association(GFA), disturbed by an allegation of bribery which has tainted the Glo Premier League, has begun steps to salvage the intergrity of the association’s flagship competition, the Glo Premier League.
There were wild allegations that the penultimate Glo Premier League fixture involving Tema Youth and King Faisal at the Tema Sports Stadium was compromised.
Indeed, an ardent Tema Youth fan, Jude Acheampong, was on record to have revealed on an Accra-based FM radio station that an amount of GHC3,000 was paid to King Faisal Coach, Mallam
Yahaya to ensure that the homesters had their way in their bid to survive the relegation dogfight.
Consequently, the GFA Ethics Committee has been activated to begin hearing on the matter next week to ascertain the veracity of the bribery allegation that has been leveled against Coach Yahaya.
It has therefore invited four persons to appear before it tomorrow at 3:00pm to help in its investigation.
They include Operations Manager of Tema Youth Supporters Union, Messrs Acheampong and Ganiyu of the Tema Youth Supporters Union. — ghanafa.org
